Welcome to a wonderful journey of discovery into the Arts, as we present ACE! 2010. We hope that you will enjoy your first experience, and then come back for more, throughout the festival.
Last year we stayed very much in Singapore, highlighting the diverse and vibrant local talent, so this year we wanted to journey further afield, to explore Europe, Africa, Korea, Japan, Indonesia…
Come with us to some, or all of these places, and maybe find yourself lost in a faraway forest, a deserted desert, or an enchanted universe! We hope that it will be a magical journey of discovery for you, as you watch the performances, get involved in the workshops, and investigate the exhibitions.
It has been a journey of discovery for us too, this year, as we have discovered and developed a very positive relationship with the National Museum of Singapore, and their enthusiastic and skilled staff. And of course, with the wonderfully talented overseas and local groups we have invited to perform.
For our second year, we wanted to continue to develop ACE! As a festival that shows off the best of local and international performing arts for a family audience. We also continue in our quest to open up the performing arts to a wider audience.
This year’s ACE! Festival has been in planning for 12 months — and we are now already looking forward and planning for ACE! 2011. It promises to be a brand new journey for us, as we find other partners to work with, new places to explore, new shows to discover, and somehow, the money we need to continue. It’s always exciting, a little scary, and there are always new discoveries to be made.
