Money and power cannot buy happiness; and sometimes life's greatest treasures come in a very plain wrapping.

In this beautiful story, an Emperor with all wealth and power at his command is amazed when he finds true joy in the simple song of a small brown nightingale. It brings him something that none of his money or influence can provide.

However, things get complicated when an imitation nightingale is brought to the Emperor. Will he choose the seemingly better performance of the mechanical bird, or the untamed and unpredictable beauty of the real thing?

The Emperor finds out to his cost that you can't replace the truth with an imitation, however good it may seem - and it's up to the most unlikely team of a kitchen maid and a wild bird to save the Emperor and the whole empire from a major disaster!

Part of the Hans Christian Andersen 2005 worldwide Celebration, this Asian themed family-centred musical will feature a fusion of both Western and Asian techniques, carefully interweaving live action, puppetry and tuneful original songs.

By using a simple and clear story that even the youngest can follow, but with themes and issues very relevant to teens and adults we have created a heart-warming and colourful dramatic experience for everyone.

Bringing together all of our experience in creating children's and family theatre, we believe that this will be one of the best and most exciting productions we have created so far.
