Philip Pullman proudly states, “Children need the arts as much as they need fresh air…otherwise they perish from the inside”. These words resonated with the festival team when we started to plan the festival more than one year ago. We knew we wanted a festival that was holistic – one that could enrich, enliven and excite children and their families.
A year later, we are proud to present to you ACE! Festival 2014 – Long Ago and Far Away. This year’s festival is a special one for us as we celebrate our 5th anniversary. We invite you to join us in this journey where the boundaries of imagination are limitless. Put down your iPads and come watch all five exhilarating performances, participate in creative workshops and explore the free events happening throughout the festival. Come and experience for yourself the joys, energy and surprising possibilities of the Arts.
We would like to thank the National Arts Council, Drama Centre and The National Library, all sponsors for their generous contributions, creative partners, our special friends from Blunderbus Theatre Company and Toto Tales, and all cast, crew and the festival team for their dedication and commitment to spreading the magic of theatre for young people. Lastly, a big ‘thank you’ to YOU for supporting and being part of the festival.
Theatre connects the heart to the head. Here’s to an ACE! experience.
