The Theory of Relativity tells us: If a car moves at the speed of light, time will stand still, and space will fall away.
In the hauntingly quiet Esplanade B2 carpark, two men meet. One is Zhang Jun, possessing in him 600 years of Kun Opera history. The other is George Chan, trained in musicals, the centuries-old Western art form. As the prince of Kunqu and leading actor of musicals face each other, each with their own histories and cultures etched in their bodies, what do they say? What can’t they hold back?
Einstein in the Carpark is an original work where East meets West through the past and the present; this journey-themed site-specific production is directed and conceptualised by Young Artist Award recipient Liu Xiaoyi, together with award-winning artists- lighting artist Lim Woan Wen and sound artist Darren Ng.
