Full Frontal invites young theatre creatives to explore and confront new dimensions in their practice through theatre directing. Flexing their directorial muscle by revisiting known texts from Singapore's theatre and literary canon and breathing fresh perspectives into them, Full Frontal aims to help nurture Singapore’s next generation of directors and at the same time deepen appreciation of Singapore's literature.

With dramaturgical support from Robin Loon and Kok Heng Leun, Li Xie and Peter Sau take up the challenge in their directorial debut at the Festival.

Li Xie, a performer, writer, director and mask-maker, will revisit Kuo Pao Kun's A Little White Sailing Boat. The play, which tells of one man’s search for redemption, was first staged at the 1982 Singapore Festival of Arts. Li Xie is a recipient of the Young Artist Award (2005) and winner of Life!’s Best Supporting Actress award (2006).
