Melissa is the General Manager of The Necessary Stage (TNS) and the Executive Producer of the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival, and has been working full-time in the Singapore arts industry for over two decades. Aside from the day-to-day running of the company, she has assisted with research and translation for TNS’ productions, including Manifesto (2016) and Underclass (2018), and has served as a dramaturg for TNS productions, including《演员四十》(Actor, Forty, commissioned for Esplanade’s Huayi – Chinese Festival of Arts 2017), Civilised (2019), and The Year of No Return (commissioned for the Singapore International Festival of Arts 2020/2021).

As Executive Producer of the Fringe, she works closely with her team on overall curating of and organisation for the 12-day annual event. She has a particular interest in works that are socially engaged, give voice to the marginalised and delve into the crucial and urgent issue of the climate catastrophe.
