0zero01 is a theatrical exploration process conducted deep in the night; from 11pm to 2am, an exploration into the existence of four people.
In 0zero01, Pao Kun uses a form that has hardly been explored in Singapore.
This form of theatre draws you into the characters as they unmask.
The actor exposes his innermost core to the audience, who use this experience to look within themselves.
The usual actor-character divide being absent, you are confronted by real people who invite you past bedroom and bathroom taboos, into the excruciating privacy of their lives.
As each actor is "unmasked", that is, his sunglasses are removed, he is able to move backward and inward until he is a child, way before he knew about social restraints.
The brilliance of 0zero01 is that each intensely personal memory is an accessible, solid stage image, compounded of words and a visual complement.
