Bread and Barter (1989)

It’s a familiar situation. Alex Teo, a young determined salesman, knocks on the door of Mrs Katherine Leong’s flat. He’s here to sell, to make his commission. Her money is worth his time. Never mind her idiosyncrasies, she’s a customer. After all, “sales is like that.”

Mrs Leong doesn’t disappoint. She buys it all. With the right kind of persuasion, she parts willingly with the cash. His time is worth more than her money.

As it goes, in all familiar situations, nothing that’s worth anything comes easy. Katherine delivers more than Alex bargained for. And Alex, true to all salesman, promises more than he can give.
