Time is Weijin North-South Dynasty which follows the chaotic Three Kingdoms. But the period is no less tumultuous. Place is an obscure inn which lurks in an obscure town that dots the Chinese map. But greed it breeds is certainly not too obscure.
All seem to have come to a standstill - speechless, motionless and even draftless. In proprietress Madam Gold, her sidekicks Lady Willow and Spring Autumn, face a day no different from the rest. But clouds soon barrel - about to take everyone by storm - with the appearance of The Moon, a man wanted by the Chinese court.
"Fortune teller" Half-Prose, female constable The Thunder, rutless and lovelorn killer Tranquiller and the unrivalled beauty The Silent Stream stream into the otherwise deserted inn at impeccable intervals, all eyeing a treasure which they can safely term theirs.
And the EVIL LIVES on eventually, as if endorsing the old saying that all good things come to an end.
