Shortly after Invisibility premiered in 1996, I left Singapore to further my studies in Cambridge. The loneliness expressed in my play, if it is merely a product of my imagination, then I must say that the three years at Cambridge confirmed this imagined loneliness.

I did not expect Invisibility to become the first Singaporean play to be performed in Taipei the following year. I also did not foresee that on my return from Cambridge, the first play I learnt that would be staged was Invisibility. In the past three years, many things have happened and changed in my life - spiritually and mentally; yet a constant has been the re-staging of this modern fable.

Different people interpret the play differently. I am always surprised and moved by each interpretation. My heartfelt thanks to Pern Yiau and everyone involved in this production for giving me the opportunity to re-discover myself.
