A woman cooks a sumptuous dinner for her family to celebrate her birthday. Her husband returns home and upset over the loss of his job, hits her and pushes her down their flat. But she returns, as she has not finished her cooking. Her son returns home shortly and engages in a fight with his father. She gets pushed down the flat again. Yet she comes back the second time to finish her cooking. At this moment, her female boss arrives at her home. But there is not enough food. What is she to do? Funny yet poignant, this Mandarin play explores the woman's relationship with her husband, her son and her female boss.
