Vanessa likes to explore and play, particularly with topics that may not be so easily discussed in public settings. In her 10 years of involvement with the theatric scene, she has worked on productions surrounding themes of grief, love, shame, harassment, trafficking, family and freedom. In her exploration of theatre as an artform, she was also not shy to take on wide-ranging roles including actor, props master, director, playwright and producer. She is a recent graduate of ARTivate, a 3-year program by Drama Box. Her acting credits include Huang Cheng Ye Yun : Bei (2014) by Hwa Chong Institution (Junior College), as well as Monologue (2018), #FFFFFF: Miss(ed) (2019) and Dancing with Fish in the Midnight Zone (2021) by Drama Box. She also co-directed a piece that was performed in Huang Cheng Ye Yun : Yi (2015) by Hwa Chong Institution (Junior College).

In her life outside of theatre, she is an engineering graduate and is currently employed full-time with Changi Airport Group.
