Jocelyn Chng is a practitioner, writer and educator in dance and theatre. Part of her practice is concerned with interrogating the cultural politics of ballet performance and teaching, especially in the context of Singapore. She also works with improvisational and somatics practices, examining and encouraging a phenomenological awareness of our lived experience.
She holds a double Masters in Theatre Studies/Research from the Universities of Amsterdam and Tampere, and a PG Dip in Education (Dance Teaching) from the University of Bath. She has written criticism for several platforms since 2013, including Centre 42, Arts Equator, The Straits Times and The Flying Inkpot. She is a part-time lecturer at LASALLE College of The Arts, and was previously an Associate Member of Dance Nucleus.
