Lina, a Yale scholar, finds herself suddenly burdened with motherhood. Harried by her pursuit of success, Alia is raised by Lina's doting parents. 12 years on, Lina's parents are killed in a car crash. Accidental mother and bewildered daughter walk the tightrope of 'unconditional love'. 4 years later, Alia returns home to find Lina has vanished with 50 million dollars. The daughter is now left to answer for a mother she does not know.
An adaptation of Claire Tham's award winning short story, The Gunpowder Trail tells the tale of how in a mother's abandonment of her daughter, she yields the freedom to be herself.
