The Miseducation of Minah Bukit is an investigation into the Minah subculture, as opposed to the more dominant and visible Mat subculture. The second script in Kampung 2000 by Alfian, Minah Bukit is a reclamation of the Minah identity and it takes place during an audition attended by a strongly 'Minah-identified' interviewer and an auditionee called Minah but who is resistant to being categorised as a Minah. Through the playing up of various stereotypes such as Minah Jiwa-Jiwa, Minah Kendarat and Minah Ferring, the play exposes the various constructions of identity among Malay females in Singapore.
