Urban Conversation is a play about gaps in conversations, dialogues and consciousness. It is about the people we see everyday around us. It is about unarticulated desires, hopes and visions. It is about the things we do not speak of, things that come into our minds in between working hours, the blare of the traffic, sounds of the city, mundane conversations and life.
As we walked on the asphalt roads, words and feelings pass through us. We seldom think or acknowledge what they mean; but maybe we should, perhaps because they stand at the core of our beings of what we are and what we can be.
The task of allowing 2 medias (Drama and Photography) to interact is difficult. There needs to be collaborators who are willing to know each other, to trust and give.
Most of all, there is need to be creative friction. Friction that is created in the process of not agreeing with one another, in finding a certain synergy in a path of work. I feel that such synergy has been articulated in the collaborative effort between myself, Tania and Davin. Perhaps more can be done in the future. The sky's the limit. Only time can tell.
