This is a special production for two reasons.

Firstly, we have never had a Directing Workshop before this. Secondly, this is the first time we have a bilingual drama presentation.

We tend to agree with the comment that directing is next to impossible to teach although it can be learnt. Which means it is very much left to the student to form his style and technique. What a workshop could do is to provide the stimulus for creative activity and useful reference to challenge the budding artists' minds.

If nothing else, we have discovered a group of vigorous young minds thirsting for a substantial break-through, as shown by the weight and variety of their choice of plays. Their total potential is for you to discover.

In integrating the Chinese and English stream drama students in one workshop, we have opened an exciting mode of exchange. Throughout the workshop, the cross-cultural interaction has been deeply impressive and revealing. Each have opened windows for the other to see, minds for the other to tap, and challenges for each other to grapple with.

In this new mode of learning and working together, the workshop has reaped a harvest we did not set out to work for. The fruitfulness of the close encounter have made us more aware of the differences separating us and the unity binding us. It would be difficult to settle for less from now on.

We hope you would not be too disappointed by the production. Apart from being a responsive audience, we ask you to do a little bit more - by telling us, in whatever form you could, what you thought.
