Pickle Party is a food-meets-community research project that attempts to fill the gap in current food rescues by organising volunteers to help with “high quality repurposing of rescued produce”. We want volunteers to come onboard to wash and treat the produce, while sharing their own pickling tips and tricks. Pickling also means energy-efficient food preservation!

Facilitated by Ang Xiao Ting and Megan Hon, Pickle Party is part of Practice Tuckshop’s long-term research inquiry into Asian-focused pickling and food preservation practices and this will eventually culminate in a theatre project.

Dive into a 30-minute taster session in this Pop-Up iteration and bring home a selection of easy recipes and yummy pickles. No kitchen experience required!

Each participant is encouraged to bring along a clean glass jar to take home some pickles. Approximate size 300-400ml (like a peanut butter spread jar).
