Single

Mark Sim is 34 and single. Cynthia Liew is 29 and single. Mark is slated to be the Regional Vice-President of Barnum Pharmaceuticals, a multi-national firm. Cynthia is the General Manager of Pearce & Mortimer Advertising. They epitomise the new breed of successful, young "power" professionals of the 90s; ambitious, good-looking and intelligent. But they are still single. The authorities are concerned that they should reap the benefits of Family Life. His mother is anxious, so are their friends, their colleagues, even their colleagues' friends. In what seams to them to be an intesified effort to rid Singapore of singles, they're harangued by one and all, even bus ads. They meet at a party and hit it off. She thinks he's amusing, frank and honest, with a great sense of humour. He likes her grace, charm, nice smile and great teeth. So they decide to call one another...
