In Richard Bean’s English version of Goldoni’s classic comedy A Servant of Two Masters, sex, food and money are high on the agenda.
It's 1963 and the location is Brighton. Two underworld gangs are about to be united via a marriage. In his desperation for food and salary Francis ends up caught in the middle with two 'guvnors' who must be served yet kept ignorant of the fact that Francis is moonlighting.
The original National Theatre production in London featured James Corden in the lead as Francis before transferring to Broadway where it ran for several months to great acclaim.
