Visuals... A physical setting... What next? We finally decided on a creative stimulus that you can actually taste. Stella Kon and Jean Tay were invited to create new plays, each using a tropical fruit of her choice as an emotional springboard. Stella chose the chiku fruit (human heart fruit) while Jean settled on the rambutan fruit. But as you will witness for yourself tonight, the seeds and the flesh that make up these two plays are so uncannily similar in parts. And yet, each has a very unique texture that sets it apart from the other. So watch the plays and let us have your views. In the meantime, we will continue to come up with new ideas to entice exciting talents to come together to create new works for the future of Singapore theatre at 42 Waterloo Street.
