Michele Lim has been involved in the Singapore arts scene as an arts management consultant, theatre educator and producer for over 2 decades. Her professional journey in the arts began in 1991 when she joined TheatreWorks as its PR manager and eventually became its General Manager (1991 – 2000). Michele is also one of the founding members of the Singapore Drama Educator’s Association where she has held the posts of president, treasurer and advisor. A fervent advocate for a balanced and productive arts eco-system, Michele has devoted many years to raising public awareness of the importance and value of the arts in the everyday life, and about Singapore’s performing arts legacy. It is with this same fervor that Michele became part of TAFY. As a management consultant in the areas of strategic planning and review, organisational performance, business development and communications, Michele works with many diverse sectors in the arts – ranging from the performing arts organisations (theatre, dance and music), industry organisations, government agencies and educational institutions. She teaches part time at LASALLE College of the Arts, and also designs and conducts customised arts management in-house training for organisations. Based in Singapore, her producing credits include GIMME TEN《十分好戏》 Chinese Radio Play Competition, 2021, conceived by Ground Zer0 and presented by Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre; Alice’s Topsy Turvy Tea Party by Melissa Quek and The Kueh Tutus presented at the inaugural March On Festival 2021;《六根不宁》 I came at last to the seas, conceived & directed by Kuo Jian Hong an Esplanade Huayi Festival 2018 commission produced by The Theatre Practice; Dark Room, written & directed by Edith Podesta, an Esplanade Studio Commission, April 2016; Returning《回归》conceived by Mdm Goh Lay Kuan and choreographed by Meenakshy Bhaskar, Jenny Neo, Osman Abdul Hamid, Low Ee Chiang commissioned by Singapore International Festival of Arts 2015; Dream Country, a lost monologue [ Dance ] conceived by Marion D’Cruz, and choreographed by Natalie Hennedige, Zizi Azah, Claire Wong, Charlene Rajendran commissioned by the Singapore Arts Festival 2012.
