The Sunflower is an original play written in beautiful poetic verses by Indian playwright Prithipal S Vasudev. The Sunflower tells the fabrics of Life woven into a magical journey. The narcissistic Prince Ayus believes that he is immortal. Together with his retinue, he goes to a Revel in the sky. In his journey, he meets a myriad of people creatures and being and learns about love, life and mortality. Like a sunflower that is always looking for light from the sun as a source of life, humankind is perpetually looking for answers and enlightenment in his quest about life.
The Sunflower is part of Gaia: Celebrating The Earth by Asia In Theatre Research Centre in celebration of the Earth, exploring how artists value, perceive and understand the Earth.
