M1 Singapore Fringe Festival is an annual festival of theatre, installation, film, music and forum created and presented by Singaporean and international artists. Based on a different theme every year and curated by Artistic Director Alvin Tan, the festival aims to bring the best of contemporary, cutting-edge and socially engaged works to the Singapore audience in an age where war, terror, violence and oppression continue to haunt us, where people are driven to commit horrific acts and human life becomes so insignificant, in an age where HATE is the operative word, we look to Art as a means of reflection. The inaugural M1 Singapore Fringe Festival will feature, under the theme of Art & War, performances and installations from Israel, United Kingdom, France and Singapore; films from China, India, New Zealand, France and USA; as well as public forum discussions and a workshop. Performances will take place primarily at Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay.
