Oh Man! is a communal collage exploring the psyche of the Singapore Male, as well as relationships between men in Singapore.
Through drama, movement, music video and design we present a range of rather frank reflections and questions about masculinity is a Singaporean context.
The play does not follow a particular story, though we do hope we can bring you through a satisfying journey of some sort. You will notice we look some lighter and others much much heavier. We do not intend to present a particular moral or message, but rather to inspire and stimulate our audience to make their own interpretations, considerations and reflections.
This string of episodes surfaces such themes as male bonding, machismo, violence and abuse, loss, survival, emotional reservation and suppression.
By no means have we intended to cover all the most important themes and issues relating to Singapore men, and by no means are we able to sink to the greatest depths. This is not a thesis but a communal work of Art.
