Throughout history, humankind all over the world has taken the time and energy to make sense of its existence through creative questioning, protest, debate, storytelling, prayer and celebration. Otherwise known as "The Arts". Through these unique moments of creative human interaction, we find moments of release, challenge and sometimes resolution, ofter parcelled with laughter and tears.
Unfortunately throughout history, humankind has also found many ways of denying and dampening its own need and desire for artistic expression.
There will perhaps always be people and activities that try to keep us away from it as well. We at the Necessary Stage are convinced that the arts are Necessary and are meant for everyone.
We hope that through this festival and our other future arts programmes, you can discover the Necessary release you can find through involvement in the arts.
